The howler monkeys of Cabo Pasado

Cabo Pasado is a remnant of pre-mountain forest which is a geographical transition between the Tumbesian region of dry tropical forest and the forest of the tropical rainforest of the Choco Region located at the northern coast of Ecuador and the south of Colombia.
It's condition of being a transitions forest has permitted dozens of species of birds to live there, some examples are trogons, marmots, mockingbirds, parrots, horneros, flycatchers, curassows, woodpeckers, kingfishers, hawks, etc.

The main attractions of the area are the howler monkeys who live in family groups and can be watched easily in a walked path near of the beach of Cabo Pasado. The family groups can reach to more than 10 monkeys.

Another attraction of Cabo Pasado include a beach area where is possible to snorkel in the low tide to see sea cucumbers, sea stars, clownfish, corals, and sea life at it purest.
